The CLD Shawinigan (economic development corporation) and its partners are committed to developing and supporting companies in the tourism industry. Several funds are available to start up or develop new projects.

In 2009, more than $ 500,000 was invested by the CLD through funds specifically reserved for the development of new projects in the tourism industry.  Such financial assistance has generated returns of over $ 9,000,000. In the same year, the CLD also invested over $ 138,000 to promote Shawinigan as a tourist destination.
